Hard time setting up my Spark

I’ve had the unit for a long time - was a backer.

I had it setup and working but stopped using it - I am now retired and want to use it now for a garage door project using my SmartThings if possible.

I cleared it and did a proper reset to get the Blue led flashing mode,

I cannot get it setup uwing my mobile app, so I tried the USB cable method. When I enter W, I am asked for the SSID name, which I enter, then for the password, I enter it as well.

I then get a message to wait for 7 seconds or so, Greed LED flash, then it enter a Red/Blue light and stays on for ever… will not enter CYAN breathing mode…

What am I doing wrong ? I suspect it may need a firmware upgrade, but it seems very complex to use the CC3000 TI method using a Linux machine, I am on Windows,…

Any ideas ?

Grateful with any help,

Regards,

Denis

Denis,

I would suggest a full firmware upgrade as your mentioned. The instructions are here: http://support.spark.io/hc/en-us/articles/203108844-Perform-a-Full-Firmware-Upgrade

Give that a try and report back if you get stuck. We’ll help you through it

Thanks.

Please the URL link for dfu-util ( http://dfu-util.gnumonks.org/) in the page you sent me to is no longer valid. Would you have the new one ?

I have installed node.js
